A Defense of Same-Sex Marriages

My goal in this study is to defend same-sex marriage. I do so on several grounds, the most important of which is that it is consistent with the sensible reasons for marriage in general and furthers the benefits that marriage normally serves. Same-sex marriage is good for its participants, good for their children, and beneficial for society. I thus argue that it should be supported and promoted. My argument to this effect rests on several premises that I will describe in detail in what follows.
